Sullivan’s Mentor Program

February 20, 2023

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a mentor as “a trusted counselor or guide.” Mentors are able to listen well, lead with integrity, and give advice when needed. They are willing to go into difficult conversations and come out with trust, communication, and boundaries well established.

Here at Sullivan’s Metropolitan Grill, we believe that mentors are an essential role in the function of daily life. Between running a kitchen, serving guests, executing caterings, and scheduling events, mentors are needed to keep a healthy balance of hard work and comradery. We are blessed to have a strong team of managers that oversee the daily operation of our restaurant. These managers have risen up to find leaders amongst their teams that can serve as mentors.

Sullivan’s is currently training six mentors in weekly sessions with our lead managers. These mentors are part of our back of house and serving team and are able to reach the entirety of our restaurant’s staff. Throughout the last year, mentors have discussed leadership strategies, learned about the daily operations of Sullivan’s, and worked with one another to grow as individuals. One of our mentors says that these sessions have “helped him grow as a leader and are preparing him for his future at Sullivan’s.”

We are thankful to be in a position to train up our future, and we are excited to see these mentors help us better serve our community!
