Looking Back at 2023

January 8, 2024

Somehow 2023 has come and gone, and we couldn’t be more thankful for another year here at Sullivan’s Metropolitan Grill! This year was spent fine tuning many of the changes that were implemented after closing during the 2020 pandemic. While we have come a long way, we know that the best is yet to come!

Seasonal Menu Launches

Fall of 2022, Sullivan’s introduced their first seasonal dinner menu. Sullivan’s founder, Bill Nickas, says, “The goal of our seasonal menu is to bring fresh, new food to our guests while keeping the comfort of our long standing favorite dishes.” In April of 2023, we featured a Spring and Summer dinner menu inspired by fresh herbs, local seafood, and seasonal produce. This menu was paired with a Spring cocktail menu that utilized florals and citrus.

In October, our second winter seasonal menu launched. Inspired by warm, seasonal flavors, this winter menu was expertly paired with a new wine and cocktail menu. This menu has quickly become a favorite amongst our patrons and has received wonderful reviews during this holiday season. Our lunch menu was also updated with new menu items that reflect a healthier side to some of our favorite dishes.

Food is the heart of any restaurant. Our entire kitchen and serving staff has worked hard to adapt to a changing menu and to offer nothing but the best to our guests!

Catering and Private Events

From private events in the restaurant, to weddings, to everything in between, our catering department handles it all! In 2023, we held roughly 300 private events in our restaurant. From rehearsal dinners to business meetings to birthday parties, we saw it all in our 2 private dining rooms! This year we also had roughly 310 catered events. From elaborate dinners to family reunions, we loved having the opportunity to cater to Anderson and the Upstate.

In the fall of this year, Sullivan’s partnered with the Bleckley Inn. This partnership has expanded our catering abilities, and we are now able to serve guests in their private dining room. For more information about this partnership, click here.

Highlights

2023 was just the beginning of the exciting events that we hope to incorporate into our restaurant.

  • We hosted two five-course wine dinners, one in our private dining room and one at Generostee Creek. Our goal for 2024 is to serve 4 wine dinners and multiple pop-up restaurants at the Bleckley Inn.
  • We catered on Clemson’s 50-yard line and at over 50 different locations. Honorable mentions include the AnMed Camellia Ball, Anderson University’s Inaugural Kickoff, Downtown Anderson’s Farm to Table, The Bridge Center’s First Annual Gala, The Anderson Arts Center Auction, and Thanksgiving for over 1,500 First Quality Employees!
  • Our holiday brunches served over 2,400 people. Between Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Thanksgiving, we loved celebrating with our community.
